Botswana Red Cross Society in partnership with Greater Gaborone District Health Management Team - DHMT and World Health Organization conducted rapid house to house visits to investigate possible cases of polio.
The public was encouraged to allow health officials who will be wearing identifying uniform and having identifying documents to conduct this crucial investigation. The house to house visits ran from the 19th of August to the 23rd. We visited many areas including Ramotswa, Tlokweng, Mogoditshane, Mmopane and Gabane just to name a few.
Botswana Red Cross Society has been working closely with the Gender Committee in Chobe, North-West and Palapye districts to define the outlook of Gender-based violence in the respective districts, determine the interventions that work best in each context and prioritise communities where those interventions would be mostly impactful.

Francistown Sub Branch today celebrating Breastfeeding Week under the theme "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All" at Donga Clinic in Francistown. Volunteers took part in; Health talk about breastfeeding and lactation to the clients present at the clinic. Hampers donation for breastfeeding and lactating mothers.
Motokwe, 10th April: Minister of Health Dr Edwin Dikoloti says State of the World Children’s report of 2023, has revealed that globally, a total of 67 million children missed out on vaccinations between 2019 and 2021.
When officiating at a ceremony aimed at appreciating integrated community-based health services project in Motokwe recently, Dr Dikoloti said this indicates that children born just before or during the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic who would normally have been vaccinated, may actually have missed crucial lifesaving vaccinations.
In a generous act of Corporate Social Responsibility, First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) generously donated stationery, toiletries, toy, and clothing to the Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS). The handing over ceremony was attended by Ms. Jennifer Makgabenyana, the FNBB Commercial Director and Mr. Kutlwano Mukokomani, the Secretary General BRCS.
