Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS) is an impartial, neutral, and independent voluntary AID Organisation auxiliary to the government of Botswana, enacted on the 1st March 1968 by an Act of Parliament (CAP 64:01) as a humanitarian

organization with a mandate to reduce the number of deaths, injuries, and the impact of disasters for human suffering. BRCS gained recognition from the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in 1970 and was endorsed by the League of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in 1971.

BRCS is recognized as a National Society by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It is admitted to the membership and is recognized as a component of the Movement and is committed to the values, principles, and missions of the Movement.
